National Centre welcomes £2bn funding for science R&D

National Centre statement:
Dr David Docherty, Chief Executive of the National Centre for Universities and Business said: “the government pledge today of an extra £2bn funding per year for scientific research and development by 2020 is warmly welcomed by the National Centre”.
He continued “R&D is one of this country’s great strengths and it needs every possible support as we prepare for Brexit. Today’s announcement is a big step in that direction. The National Centre looks forward to working with businesses, universities and Government to make the most of this major new investment and in the development of the forthcoming industrial strategy. Together, we can release the potential of university-business collaboration for the benefit of companies and individuals across the UK”.
